New Single from The World of Dust – ‘Trasenster’

Gaman is the 7th album by Dutch experimental folk artist The World of Dust. The title is Japanese for ‘enduring the seemingly unbearable with patience and dignity’ – Stefan Breuer covers weighty topics through a personal lens within an acoustic, slowcore setting. The album’s eleven songs address the struggles of a young father and artist in the midst of a climate, economic ánd health crisis. Breuer explores these ideas through a mixture of wit and melancholy. Guitars, wind instruments, harmonium and percussion provide an intimate musical ecosystem in which Breuer’s baritone thrives.
“Its power lies in the intimacy… without drowning in desolate melancholy” – hifi.nl
Memorybell “Membranes” Out Now

Membranes is the 5th LP by American ambient artist Memorybell. After three previous releases of modular synth-based daydreams – Solace (2020), No Anchor (2021) and Glass Garden (2021) – multi-instrumentalist Grant Hazard Outerbridge returns to his roots with seven meditative piano pieces, his first album of solo piano since Obsolete (2016).
The songs were recorded at home, and their physical spaces are blended with unreal ones, to mimic the experience of being in two places at once, one real and one imagined. The album explores the liminal regions associated with pain. Between December 2020 and November 2021, Outerbridge was in excruciating pain caused by the side effects of various medications. He underwent multiple surgeries and spent much of the year incapacitated in bed. Membranes is the result. The title is a reference to staring through pain while imagining one is somewhere else.
“Essential to anyone searching for an aural retreat from an over-compressed world of packaged sound… Highly recommended for fans of solo piano and intersected genres, where Brian Eno meets Satie.” – Headphone Commute on Obsolete

New Rewilding Album “Abandoned Kiva” Out Now!

Following on from 2020’s mesmerising instrumental album Rain Patch, Rewilding’s new album, Abandoned Kiva, traverses exciting new ground for the band. In-keeping with the album’s underlying theme of seeking fresh connections in a world characterised by disconnection, the album introduces vocals by new collaborator Monica Alexandra, while continuing to explore the blurred lines between lo-fi indie-pop, post-rock and film soundtracks.
With Alexandra’s vocals in the mix alongside Jake McFee’s own, Abandoned Kiva shares musical DNA with Broadcast’s Tender Buttons, where haunting voices weave amid dense, dark musical hallways, flickering with the promise of revelation while perpetually dodging out of reach. Single ‘Astro-Geo Alignment’ typifies the album’s charms, as rickety rhythms are held together by hazy guitars, synths and voices, warping the listener’s perception of the music’s temporal and spatial dimensions.
“Further Hidden Shoal loveliness… a set made up of intricately teased melodic miniatures with an affectionate nod to both Fridge and Pram… its dreamily reflective tones are teasingly sculptured in a disarmingly fragile whittling” – The Sunday Experience on Rewilding single ‘High Desert’
New Erik Nilsson EP – “Dirge”

The title track is a short moody instrumental featuring the electric guitar as both lead and percussion instrument. Phrase Switch Etude is built up of a series of interlocking phrases, played with various techniques on an acoustic guitar, followed by a time-stretched and, through various other means, mangled ambient remix of the title track. The collection closes with a remix of ‘Rumore de Roma’, off of Nilsson’s debut album Recollage.
Moonchy & Tobias “Golem” Out Now!

Golem sees Moonchy & Tobias boldly embarking on a treacherous journey through haunted, psychedelic territory. Moonchy is the Medicine Woman in this dark rainforest, with Tobias dredging up waterlogged sound from the swamp and refracting it through a hall of mirrors. While M&T’s widely acclaimed previous albums prioritized atmosphere over rhythmic intensity, Golem stirs in a heady dose of grinding bass and guitar textures familiar to fans of 90s bands such as Girls Against Boys and Morphine.
The album hurtles into view with ‘Zoas’, tapping into the lurching alt-rock magic of Captain Beefheart or Scary Monsters-era Bowie. First single, ‘Potio Medicata’ leans into an insistent Middle-Eastern flavored ostinato, melodically infused and mesmerizing, whilst ‘Mintea’ counterbalances its strident guitar riffing and joyous cowbell with Moonchy’s eerie vocal.
The music of Moonchy & Tobias is available for licensing for film, tv, web and beyond via Hidden Shoal.
Willem Gator “Sold Out” EP Out Now!

Sold Out taps into both the playful, danceable territory of Severed Heads and the focused melodic drive of early Warp releases. ‘2007’ is hypnotic and pulsing, evoking a dreamy, nocturnal landscape. ‘Fragments Vol. 2’ conjures an eerie, almost tribal atmosphere, like Popul Vuh jamming with Dead Can Dance. The five-track release reaches its climax with the 11-minute ‘It Collapse’, which lays elegant yet icy synth tones over stuttering rhythms and a roving, questioning bassline.
Willem Gator is Giuseppe Musmeci, self-taught composer, guitarist, electronic musician and member of the Italian post-rock outfit HC-B. Musmeci’s rich background in electronic music production and keen sense of texture sees him creating highly distinctive music. Willem Gator has performed throughout Europe, sharing the stage with musicians such as FM Einhet (Einsturzende Neubauten), Flying Luttenbachers, Unsane, DJ Spooky, Pansonic, Nobokazu Takemura, U-Cef, Battles and Art Brut.
The music of Willem Gator is available for licensing (film, tv, web, exhibition etc). Head here for more details.
