Hidden Shoal Recordings is excited to announce the availability of the Makee remix of ‘Hold On To The Road’ from garage-dreampop trio [The] Caseworker, the original version of which is taken from their acclaimed 2011 album Letters From The Coast. The track is available now as a free download through Hidden Shoal.
Makee (Perth artist Daniel Cavalli) has taken the hesitant shuffle of ‘Hold On To The Road’ and reimagined it as an infectious driving groove. The wonderful sense of space evident in [The] Caseworker’s music is still present, but it’s beautifully aligned with Makee’s propulsive beatwork.
The original version of the track is lifted from the band’s third album Letters From The Coast, which sees [The] Caseworker continue to deliver their own unique sonic magic. The album has the feel of a shoegazing Velvet Underground reared by the Flying Nun label, creating an enigmatic intimacy and atmosphere, which the band wrap around immaculately crafted pop songs like smoke. Perfectly intoxicating.

Makee (Daniel Cavalli) is a tunemaker from Perth, Western Australia. When he’s not in his studio he likes playing drums and haunting dancefloors. Makee’s remix of [The] Caseworker came about via a collaborative remix project between Hidden Shoal Recordings and the excellent Sound course at Perth’s Murdoch University.
