“On ‘What’s Your Utopia?’, perth present the listener with a ticket to simply, escape. Album opener Drank and Kites and Tomorrow is Alice’s wide eyed descent down the rabbit hole. It’s an exciting introduction to the childlike wonder that lay ahead.

Songwriter Michael Dolan, together with three members of Apricot Rail (Matthew Saville, Justin Manzano and Jack Quirk) make up perth, a Western Australia based electronic outfit spelt with a lower case p. ‘What’s Your Utopia?’ is an organically fruitful progression from their 2012 debut album, ‘Babes, Water, Waves’. Post-rock influences are found throughout, Old At Heart is a joyous collision of Mogwai and Animal Collective, whilst ten minute finale, Viewmaster is split between dreamy folk and a deathly end-of-the-universe wail to fittingly end the ten track odyssey.

The cover artwork reflects its contents wonderfully well. ‘What’s Your Utopia?’ captures the serenity of dreaming, the staring out of a moving window daze, imagining your perfect world.”
