Ahead of its August 21st release, Hidden Shoal Recordings are offering the chance to preview the luscious, disorientating and utterly enchanting ambient glitch EP Yesterday by Japanese artist Cheekbone. The full album is available for preview in the HSR Store until its release next week.
Chris Mason Playing RTRFM Gig
For anybody in Perth, head down to the Bakery Artrage Complex Saturday, August 18, for RTRFM 92.1’s Radiothon Closing Party to catch Chris Mason in an intimate, stripped-back show with the help of fellow Implosion member and cellist, Miriam Braun. Radiothon is RTR FM’s biggest fundraiser of the year, and the closing party is a big deal indeed for a station that, in supporting local and international independent music, needs all the support it can get. Tix are $10/$15, door opens 7pm. Chris and Miriam will be onstage at 8:30pm so be early to catch them.

Beautiful Lunar Landscape Video in Production
A Beautiful Lunar Landscape music video is currently being shot in Bordeaux, France by the wonderful Swedish music video / short film director Jimmy Olsson for the title track off the band’s September released EP, Alone In This Dark Romantic Night. Inspired by directors such as Tarkovsky, Bergman and Fassbinder, Stockholm-based Olsson has earned a rapidly growing reputation for his unique style. Unlike many of his contemporaries Olson manages to steer away from a reliance upon heavy handed post-production, instead adopting a contemplative, naturalistic style that sits perfectly with the subtle and beautiful nuances in BLL’s music. Once complete, the full video will be available on the Hidden Shoal website, as well as all good music video shows.
