Elisa Luu "Chromatic Sigh" Official Release

Though digitally crafted, Chromatic Sigh is warm, inviting and uniquely human, betraying a vulnerability and sensitivity that is rarely found in the male-dominated sphere of electronica. With its sighing, lilting qualities, Elisa Luu’s music reawakens a sense of childlike wonder and adventure with every sprawling and sparkling track. The album deftly moves in and out of the realms of ambient and electronica, creating a blissful, liminal realm where everything is rendered transformative.
Even before its official release Chromatic Sigh has been catching the attention of critics and fans alike.
“gorgeous stuff, timid and trembling, frail and fragile – the ice sculptured craftsmanship eking out a beauti-fied solitary elegance much recalling the early career work of Mum… most alluring and lulling stuff” – Losing Today on single ‘The Garden’
“Chromatic Sigh is an absolute joy to explore, full of emotional resonance. It has a perfect balance between experimentation and melody making it equally satisfying on both an emotional and intellectual level. It’s the work of a composer who knows exactly what she’s aiming for, and knows exactly how to achieve that aim. A terrific debut from a major talent.” – Music Musings and Miscellany
Chromatic Sigh is now available on CD and in all digital formats (including lossless). The CD is distributed through n5Mailorder in the US, Asia and Europe and through Hidden Shoal Distribution in Australia. Check the Hidden Shoal Store for all availability info.

Apricot Rail Remix Released – Free Download

The original debut single, ‘Pouring Milk Out The Window’, saw Apricot Rail produce some of the most discretely charming, lush instrumental pop music you’re likely to hear all year. Delicate, bell-like arpeggiated guitar weaves around snaking clarinet and flute, while the beautifully held back yet sanguine rhythm section drives the whole thing into a blurred, sun-soaked horizon. Without losing a drop of empathy for the original’s delicate warmth, Perth-based producer Tin Man (aka Justin Manzano) has managed to deconstruct and morph the track it into a slowly brewing electronic anthem. The remix exudes a loping grandeur that is hard not to abandon yourself to. Rather than forcing its own rhythmic agenda, Tin Man’s ‘Spilt Milk’ remix both amplifies and distills the exquisite feel of the original.
‘Pouring Milk Out The Window (Tin Man Spilt Milk Remix)’ is available now for free download from the Hidden Shoal Store. While you’re there check out Apricot Rail’s acclaimed debut album and then head to Myspace to find out more about the wonderful Tin Man.
