Elisa Luu "Chromatic Sigh" Official Release
Hidden Shoal Recordings today announced the official release of the stunning debut album by Rome-based composer Elisa Luu.
Though digitally crafted, Chromatic Sigh is warm, inviting and uniquely human, betraying a vulnerability and sensitivity that is rarely found in the male-dominated sphere of electronica. With its sighing, lilting qualities, Elisa Luu’s music reawakens a sense of childlike wonder and adventure with every sprawling and sparkling track. The album deftly moves in and out of the realms of ambient and electronica, creating a blissful, liminal realm where everything is rendered transformative.

HC-B Gets Canadian Radio Chart Action
Hidden Shoal releases continue to get loved up by radio, this time by excellent Canadian station CITR where HC-B’s spellbinding album Soundcheck for a Missing Movie is sitting pretty at number 4 in their top 30 chart. The album is also on heavy rotation at a number of US college station inlcuding Berkely’s awesome KALX.

Apricot Rail Featured on PopMatters, New Video Premiered
Hot on the heels of their remix track released earlier today, Apricot Rail have been featured in the brilliant online magazine PopMatters. Not only can fans score a freely downloadable track off the band’s acclaimed debut album but they can also view the new Apricot Rail music video for the track ‘Pouring Milk Out The Window’. The music video was directed and edited by Patrick Quick and features cinematography by the legendary Australian experimental video collective Retarded Eye.

Apricot Rail Remix Released – Free Download
Hidden Shoal Recordings has announced the release of the Tin Man remix of the debut single by Perth-based multi-instrumental pop quintet Apricot Rail.
The original debut single, ‘Pouring Milk Out The Window’, saw Apricot Rail produce some of the most discretely charming, lush instrumental pop music you’re likely to hear all year. Delicate, bell-like arpeggiated guitar weaves around snaking clarinet and flute, while the beautifully held back yet sanguine rhythm section drives the whole thing into a blurred, sun-soaked horizon. Without losing a drop of empathy for the original’s delicate warmth, Perth-based producer Tin Man (aka Justin Manzano) has managed to deconstruct and morph the track it into a slowly brewing electronic anthem. The remix exudes a loping grandeur that is hard not to abandon yourself to. Rather than forcing its own rhythmic agenda, Tin Man’s ‘Spilt Milk’ remix both amplifies and distills the exquisite feel of the original.
