Excerpt: “We begin with some sparse piano notes and the cover artwork a faded Victorian photograph of the Lake District. It’s a good start. As you can imagine the album has avery pastoral feel, converging beauty and serenity. It also manages to convey a few surprises. Sometimes the synths almost recall Vangelis’ work on Blade Runner, the strings occasionally hint towards side 1 of ‘Zeit’ and the treatment of the spoken word veers towards the Productions of Richard Dorfmeister. These are but subtle hints, however, and the album remains a deep meditative work – rich in complexity and gracefully gentle. ”
